KUCHING: The SEGi College Sarawak Faculty of Law and Islamic Information Centre (IIC) will jointly host the ‘Islamic Law in Malaysia’ forum on June 23 at the college.

The speaker is Norhaza Ahmed Redzuan Abdullah, who was Sarawak chief Syariah prosecutor from 1998 to 2013 and Syariah Officer for the Islamic Council of Sarawak in 2014.

She is an Advocates’ Association of Sarawak (AAS) member and legal practitioner.

IIC CEO Zabariah Matali will moderate the question-and-answer session.

The centre is committed to interfaith dialogue and the promotion of mutual understanding and appreciation among the multi-religious and multi-ethnic Sarawakians.

In the next few months, SEGi law students will visit the Syariah Court and attend the ‘Environmental Law and Islam’ forum to understand environmental conservation contained within the Quran.
