SEGi University and Colleges embarked on the recording of a new commercial video that hopes to inspire school-leavers and their parents.

Its Group Chief Executive Officer Hew Moi Lan shared, “We wanted to depict what SEGi is all about – the best in you, so we came up with a story that we feel everyone can relate with, and especially one that will tug at the heartstrings.”

She said that after an extensive talent search, two SEGi students, Naythan Sek and Muhammad Alif Ismail, were selected for the video.

Naythan, a Civil Engineering student, was elated to be part of the commercial video.

“It was a great experience for me. I can now say that I have been part of a real life film set,” he said.

“I made sure I played my role well so we could get the perfect shot. I have also learnt that in life, when there is a will, there is definitely a way.

“The character I played struggled in the beginning but in the end, he managed to pursue his childhood dream … the objective is that one should not be afraid to aim high in life,” added Naythan.

Alif, an American Degree Programme student shared that he was glad to be part of the production.

“It is one of the highlights for me as a SEGi student and I am glad to be part of this production. I hope school-leavers will be encouraged to pursue their ambitions, regardless of life’s challenges. If you want to achieve success, then don’t ever doubt your dreams,” he added.

The commercial is about the story of two young men, Adam and Adrian, who were the best of friends from the time they were children.

One has entrepreneurship skills, while the other loves to build and aspires to be a civil engineer.

As fate would have it, their lives change when one moves away to another place. The separation is heartbreaking for both the boys. They are upset and yearn for each other’s company.

Will they be able to live in the same neighbourhood? Will there be a happy or sad ending? To find out, tune in to the commercial at SEGi University and Colleges’ YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/1Ut-fkNZL4s or catch it at any MBO, GSC or TGV cinema.
