AMID the sounds of laughter and a shared competitive spirit, 80 students from SEGi College Subang Jaya (SCSJ) took part in a challenge based on the popular television show, “The Amazing Race”.

Called “The Race by SCSJ”, the event was led by the Student Affairs Department. They managed to get the students to travel around the Klang Valley by riding the Kelana Jaya LRT line. The USJ7 station is 10 minutes away by foot from the college.

The competition started at the college with pit stops at Evolve Concept Mall in Ara Damansara and Amcorp Mall in Petaling Jaya. They then proceeded to Kuala Lumpur and visited Brickfields, Masjid Jamek, the Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Bukit Jalil.

Among the challenges the teams had to take on at these pit stops were learning to pack nasi lemak, make roti canai, tie sarees correctly, create Chinese fans, fold ketupats and also wall-climbing.

The race ended in iM4U Puchong with a prize-giving ceremony for the top three teams.

The event brought a sense of unity, friendship and teamwork among the participants.

The college hopes to hold a similar event on a bigger scale with more attractive prizes in the future.
