[The Star] SEGi appoints Azahari as president

PETALING JAYA: SEGi University & Colleges has appointed Datuk Mohamed Azahari Kamil as its president effective Jan 4, 2016.

Prior to that, he was Asian Finance Bank chief executive officer for the last eight years, the first Malaysian to hold that position in a Middle Eastern bank.

Azahari is a chartered banker of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers, as well as a chartered professional in Islamic finance. He is also a board member of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Mara.

He was appointed by the Higher Education Ministry on the CEO Faculty Programme as Adjunct Professor and Distinguished Fellow for Public Universities.

 

Azahari is currently chairman of the Crescent Wealth International Advisory Board Malaysia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Crescent Funds Australia Ltd.
