[The Star] SEGi introduces study first, pay later scheme

Easy payment: SEGi has always prided itself in providing affordable quality education.UNDER SEGi University and Colleges’ recently launched Zero First 6 campaign, new students can defer their fee payments for the first six months of studies at 0% interest rate.

The convenient payment programme, which is only open to Malaysian students, facilitates the continuity of tertiary education by enabling students to begin their studies first and settle the fees later.

Students only start paying from the seventh month onward and the deferred balance would be spread across the ensuing instalment payment plan to ease their financial burden.

The Zero First 6 campaign comes with a rebate of up to RM6,000 until June 30 for all new student enrolments.

This optional payment scheme complements existing flexible payment programmes such as the Jom ke SEGi Scheme, which allows students to study first and pay within 36 months upon graduation, or other instalment payment options available at all campuses.

SEGi is also offering various scholarships for all types of students including the Ace Scholarship that provides a certain percentage of rebate for the number of As scored in the SPM and STPM.

Students with 10As in SPM and 4As in STPM also qualify for a full scholarship at selected campuses.

Alternatively, SPM leavers can also apply for the Foundation Grant to pursue pre-university studies under a full scholarship and progress to a degree programme of their choice upon completion.

Sports scholarships and merit-based scholarships for well-performing students are also available.

SEGi, which emerged in the top 54% of the 2020 QS World University Rankings: Asia and obtained the highest 5-Star rating in the categories of Teaching, Facilities, Social Responsibility, and Inclusiveness, was recently awarded a 3-Star Rating in the 2020 Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA).
