The certification, SEGi said in a press release, will create job opportunities and open up possibilities for creative talents, gamers and digital marketers with a passion in eSports or digital content creation.

“Our main objective is to raise the standard of eSports in Malaysia.

“This certification will also give participants a sense of professionalism as we have world-class trainers to teach, demonstrate and share their skills with aspiring content creators,” SEGi Group of Colleges chief executive officer Stella Lau said.

Through the collaboration, EVOS will develop content for the professional training programme, FSA will conduct training while SEGi will endorse the programme.

Upon completion of the six-week programme, participants will receive a certification jointly endorsed by all three parties.

Participants will acquire new skills, techniques and strategies of professional content planning, creation and roll-out for eSports, SEGi said.

They will also be exposed to basic pre and post-production techniques including editing, shooting, talent management and marketing.

“Our involvement in eSports can shape opinions, change perspectives, create jobs and revolutionise the job market.

“This will not only benefit our students but also the public who wish to get certified with additional skills like digital content creation,” Lau added.

The certification will also allow participants to develop cross-disciplinary skills, SEGi College deputy principal Calvin Chan added.

“This bodes well with SEGi’s student-centric approach which pushes for excellence via enrichment and skills enhancement programmes.”

FSA ESports Management Academy co-founder Mervyn Lai wants to use this opportunity to groom the right talents for the competitive gaming industry while EVOS Esports (Marketing & PR) regional head Allan Phang aims to enhance career opportunities that will contribute to the growth and development of the industry and its talents.
