[BorneoPostOnline] SEGI Sibu produced 109 doctors in first two years

SIBU: Sibu can be proud that SEGI University Sibu clinical campus at Sibu Hospital have successfully produced 109 doctors from their first and second batches.

According to the campus dean Prof. Raili Suhaili, 47 medical students graduated in 2015 while another 62 in 2016.

“Majority of our medical students are from Semenanjung Malaysia and international medical students while they are only a handful Sarawakian medical students. Thus, we hope to see more Sarawakians joining us to become doctors,’’ he added.

Raili was speaking to reporters during the SEGI Hari Raya Gathering 2017 organised by the MedSSU (Medical Society of SEGI University) held at Permai Lake Garden last Friday night.

“After they completed the first two years at SEGI University Main Campus in Kota Damansara, Selangor, then they continue remaining Year 3,4 and 5 at SEGI University Sibu Clinical Campus,’’ he revealed.

Raili said the students were trained by 15 professional lecturers with vast experience, knowledge and skills in their respective fields.

There are currently 275 medical students for Year 2, 3 and 5 at the campus.

MedSSU president Jason Chin was among those present at the event.
